To obtain a Caste Certificate in India, you need the following documents along with the application: 

• *Identity Proof (Aadhaar Card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, PAN Card, or RSBY/MNREGA Card).
• *Address Proof (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Driving License, Passport, Electricity Bill, Water Bill, Telephone Bill, Ration Card, 7/12 Extract, or Rent Receipt). 
• *Caste Certificate of Father. 
• *Income Proof
• An affidavit of caste status, signed by a competent authority, is required in some states.
• Blood relative’s caste certificate if father’s caste certificate is not available.
• If applying after marriage, provide caste proof before marriage and a marriage certificate. Also, if you change your name, give a Name Change Notification with the Gazette.
• If you migrate from a state/country, present migration certificate no, date of issue, country, state, district, police station, village/ward, year of migration.

The fees for getting a caste certificate vary from state to state. Many states do not charge any fees, while some do. The caste certificate fees range from NO FEE to ₹100, depending on where you live.  

Each state in India has its own rules for issuing caste certificates. The following officials can issue a caste certificate:

• District Magistrate/ Additional District Magistrate/ Collector/ Deputy Commissioner/ Additional Deputy Commissioner/ Deputy Collector/ 1stClass Stipendary Magistrate/ Sub Divisional Magistrate/ Taluka Magistrate/ Executive Magistrate/ Extra Assistant Commissioner.
• The Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Additional Chief Presidency Magistrate/ Presidency Magistrate.
• Sub-divisional Officer.
• Revenue Officer who is not below the rank of Tehsildar.

• Caste or Tribe: The certifying authority verifies whether the applicant's caste or tribe is mentioned in the Presidential Orders, as per Articles 341 and 342 of the Constitution.

• Membership: The authority checks if the applicant belongs to the caste or tribe they claim to belong to.
