Establishments operating under the EPF Scheme of 1952 ensure that a certain percentage of a worker's salary, accumulated with the same amount matched by the employer, is deposited to the country's Employee Provident Fund Organisation.

So, when you are joining a new job, filling out an EPF Form 11 in this regard is mandated.

In simpler terms, this aforementioned document is a self-declaration form about your basic EPF-related information. Whether you are a member of the EPFO or not, submission of this form is mandatory upon beginning a new job.

This way, the basic Provident Fund-related details of a new member can be recorded by the authorities without any hassle. On the other hand, as a pre-existing member, filing PF form 11 means you are submitting a formal plea to transfer your previous PF balance automatically. Additionally, you can continue to enjoy the benefits of the EPF Scheme via a new PF account and member ID.

As per the guidelines in place, you will need to file this form if:

• You are a new or existing member of the Employee Provident Fund Organisation or EPFO.
• Your salary [basic + dearness allowance] is at least ₹15000 or above.
• The organisation you are joining has at least 20 employees or more.

As mentioned before, an individual needs to fill out the PF withdrawal form 11 at the time of joining a new place of employment which is covered by the following:

• Employee Provident Fund Act.
• Employee Pension Scheme.

Additionally, if you have not been a part of EPFO during your previous job or this is your first employment, you can choose not to become a part of EPF/EPS under specific terms and conditions. In that scenario, this form 11 can come in handy for you to opt for as an Excluded Employee.

• Details about passport, if you are an international worker.

STEP 1: Visit the EPFO official site.

STEP 2: Locate the tab titled "Miscellaneous" on the website and click on it.

STEP 3: Click on the option "Downloads" from the drop-down menu displayed on your screen.

STEP 4: Select the option of "Return Form."

STEP 5: Scroll down to the bottom of the page in order to navigate to this option - "Form No. - 11 The Employees' Provident Funds Scheme, 1952 [para 34]'.

STEP 6: Click on the "Download" button.

You can follow the steps mentioned below when filling out EPF Form 11 to ensure there is no risk of entering erroneous details:

STEP 1: Enter your personal information.

STEP 2: Write down your contact details.

STEP 3: Select "yes" or "no" about whether you have been a member of the Employee Provident Fund Scheme, 1952 before.

STEP 4: Choose "yes" or "no" about whether you have been a member of the Employee Pension Scheme, 1995, previously.

STEP 5: Write down your UAN and PF account details.

STEP 6: Enter the date of leaving your previous job in this format only: DD/MM/YYYY.

STEP 8: Choose "yes" or "no" about whether you are an international worker.

STEP 9: If you have chosen "yes" in the field mentioned above, you will also need to provide these details:

STEP 10: Input the necessary KYC details, as required.

STEP 11: You will have to sign the document, with a mention of the date and place, underlining that all of the data are proper, and you will notify the employer if there are any changes.
