Keep work stress at bay, all day!

Start your day on this positive note. Wake up with a positive vibe. Think positive. Think of all the great things that you achieved at work the previous day, or just think of all the positive things you have achieved in your life. Do yoga, meditate or exercise. Do anything that recharges your mind, body, and soul to take on the day with the same positivity. Throw any negative feelings out of the window!

Listen to your favorite music on the way to work. Humming away to your favorite song and drumming away to the beats on your steering wheel while you wait for the endless traffic to clear at those never-ending traffic signals.

Enter your office with a big smile. Wish everyone a lovely morning, starting with the watchman at the gate. Smile at even those who frown at you. For all you know, they’ll smile back at you. Get a hot cuppa and settle down at your workstation.

Before you open your mails, think to yourself, ‘Today’s going to be a great day!’ And when the laundry list of jobs starts to download, don’t be taken aback. After all, it is your job that is going to reward you at the end of the month, if you know what we mean!

Don’t get anxious, prioritize instead. Look at which of your jobs in your list needs to be completed first. Start with that one and that one only!

Never try and multitask, thinking that you will save on time and finish all your jobs by the end of the day. Why think about the end of the day, when after all, the day has just begun! In fact, studies prove that you waste more time trying to multitask and doing so also has an adverse effect on the quality of your work. And, not to mention, it adds to your stress.    

So, with multitasking out of the way, tick off your jobs one by one in a priority order. And once you are done with a job, ensure you take a break. Step out and breathe in some fresh air, stretch out or even try some desk yoga. Doing so is like a quick recharge that ensures that unwanted stress stays far, far away.

If possible, try and take a walk after lunch. It helps reduce stress and gives you a well-needed break from your desk and desktop!

Now you have ample time to grab yourself another hot cuppa and run through all the jobs you’ve done through the day, perfecting each assignment with a keen eye. And yes, you’ll have enough time to take on that odd last-minute job that may pop out of nowhere, with a smile!

By the end of the day you can give yourself three pats on your back for yet another brilliant day at work. Now, it’s time to go back and spend some quality time with your beloved family.

Eat well, sleep well and look forward to yet another wonderful day at work- Smiling away, for stress is now miles away! 😊 And with this, you will also be keeping any anxiety issues at bay!
