On what we’re upto, here is a quick 2 min update on Digit –
When we started Digit in December of last year, our goal was simple — Make Insurance simple, and create only those products that we would buy for ourselves and our loved ones. True to that philosophy, we are working towards launching our first set of products in the next 2 months. We have our ‘In-principle’ license (R1) approval from the regulator, IRDAI, and we are in the process of getting the second-stage approvals. We are finalizing our first set of products that we will launch with, and we will share an update soon on that.
From an organization standpoint, we are trying to build a team which is a good mix of rich Insurance experience and professionals from the e-commerce and technology world. We believe that’s the best way to Question the status quo of Insurance industry, and build something that’s very relevant and close to the consumer. Our core team is a mix of senior folks from Allianz group, Myntra, Snapdeal, KPMG, EY, Computer Associates, and there are more who are about to join us. We’re hiring aggressively and if you if think we should talk to someone you know, please connect us and we would love to engage with them.
Given that we are looking at technology enabled solutions to make insurance simple, we have decided to set up base in Bangalore. And we recently moved into our permanent nest as well. So, the next time you are looking for a parking slot in and around Koramangala, you can do it here. We have some good filter coffee to go with it, as well.
Btw, we are also in the process of re-naming ourselves, and we will leave that story for the next time!
