Maharashtra has the largest share in the cumulative length of state highways in India. The state has a multi-modal transportation system and accounts for an extensive road network in the country.

The Maharashtra state highways contribute significantly to the infrastructure and economic development of the state by connecting several industrial areas and tourist spots, among others.

1. Maharashtra State Highway 10 (MH SH 10) (Known as the Malegaon-Manmad Road)

• Entry and exit point: North end- Dondaicha, Dhule and South end- Daund, Pune
• Route: It stretches over Ahmednagar and Nashik. Donnacha, Shevade, Mehergaon, Kusumbe, Malegaon, Manmad, Rahata, Rahuri, Vita, Ahmednagar, Daund, Tasgaon and passes Dhule, Pune district.
• Distance: 373.6 km

2. Maharashtra Major State Highway 1 (MH MSH 1)

• Entry and exit point: Starts from Songir, Dhule and ends at Wadifali, Nandurbar
• Route: The highway passes through Songir, Chimthane, Dondaicha, Nimgul, Shahada, Dhadgaon, Kathi, Molgi, Wadifali till Maharashtra- Gujarat state border, connecting Dhule and Nandurbar district
• Distance: 181 km

3. Maharashtra State Highway 151 (MH SH 151)

• Entry and exit point: North end- Barshi, Solapur and South end-Akkalkot, Solapur
• Route: Crosses Solapur district and passes through Barshi, Virag, Solapur, Akkalkot, Aaland
• Distance: 135 km

4. Maharashtra State Highway 134 (MH SH 134) (Known as Sankeshwar-Gadhinglaj-Kadgaon-Ajara- Amboli- Sawantwadi Road)

• Entry and exit point: East end-Sankeshwar, Kolhapur and West end- Sawantwadi, Sindhudurg
• Route: The highway runs through the Kolhapur district and Sindhudurg district and stretches over Sankeshwar, Gadhinglaj, Kadgaon, Ajra, Amboli and Sawantwadi.

5. Maharashtra State highway 190 (MH SH 190)

• Entry and exit point: Starts from Malkapur and ends at Nasirabad
• Route: The highway passes over Malkapur, Bodwad, Kurhe, Nasirabad and touches Buldhana district and Jalgaon district.

6. Maharashtra State Highway 2 (MH SH 2)

• Entry and exit point: Starts from Mhasavad, Nandurbar, and ends at Toranmal, Nandurbar
• Route: The highway runs through Shahada, Mhasavad, Islampur, Lakkadkot, Ranipur, Nagziri, Toranmal and runs through Nandurbar district.
• Distance: 55 km

7. Maharashtra State Highway 42 (MH SH 42) (Known as Ghodbunder Road or GB Road)

• Entry and exit point: Starts from Kapurbawadi, Thane, and ends at Ghodbunder
• Route: Runs entirely through Thane; from NH 3 Junction at Kapurbavdi till NH8 junction near Ghodbunder
• Distance: 15 km

8. Maharashtra State Highway 1 (MH SH 1)

• Entry and exit point: Starts from Shahada, Nandurbar, and ends at Amalner, Jalgaon
• Route:  The highway runs through the districts of Nandurbar, Dhule and Jalgaon. It also touches cities and villages like Shahada, Sangvi, Lasur and Amalner.
• Distance: 180 km

9. Maharashtra State Highway 27 (MH SH 27)

• Entry and exit point: Southwest end- Pune and Northeast end- Ahmednagar
• Route: It passes over Pune, Shirur, Ahmednagar.

10. Maharashtra State Highway 173 (MH SH 173)

• Entry and exit point: Starts from Shegaon and ends at Trunki
• Route: The highway enters Sangrampur tehsil and touches Khiroda, Warwat Khanderao, Shegaon, Yeualkhed, Manasgaon, Bawanbir, Tunki and passes through Buldhana and Jalna district.
