What is the process to file a car insurance claim in case of theft?

If your car was stolen, you should follow the steps below to raise a claim: a) Lodge an FIR with the police. b) Inform your insurer and the RTO that your vehicle has been stolen. c) Submit the required documents: Copy of the FIR Copy of the car insurance policy documents Copy of your driving license Copy of the car registration certificate RTO transfer papers and claim form duly signed d) The police will attempt to locate your car, and if it has not been found after 6 months, they will issue a ‘Non-Traceable Report'. e) You must transfer the keys and RC of your lost car to the insurance company, along with a letter of subrogation. Then the claim will be settled.
