This Serbian International Airport is named after Nikola Tesla, a Serbian-American inventor. This airport opened in March 1927 and rests in the suburbs of Surcin, about 18 km west of downtown Belgrade. It is the busiest and largest of all the airports in Serbia.
Founded in 2016, Ponikve airport rests in the Ponikve plateau in the region of western Siberia. Ponikve Airport is located 12 km from the city of Uzice. In the context of runway length, the Ponikve airport ranks second, having the biggest runway in Siberia.
The Sjenica Airport was in use by the Yugoslav army air force. The airport got damaged during the NATO bombing of 1999. This airport is also known by another name Dubinje Airport. It is located on the Pester plateau near the town of Sjenica. It is also close to a tourist destination in the mountain resort named Zlatar.
The Sombor Military Airport stands between the villages of Prigrevica and Kupusina. The Germans built the airport in 1944. Located 7 km from the city of Sombor and 9 km from the town of Apatin, the nearest city and towns of this airport are Sombor and Apatin. The airport serves the region of Sombor and sits at an elevation of 272 feet.
Morava Airport is also known by another name Ladjevci Airport. Founded in 2016, this airport is 15 km from Kraljevo, 25 km from Čačak, and 39 km from Kragujevac. After the completion of its construction, it had 235th Fighter-Bomber Squadron. Morava Airport was first built in 1967 as a military airport. However, it has been upgraded to a civilian airport, making it the third commercial airport in Serbia.
Niš Constantine is located in the border crossing area of the suburbs of Popovac and Medosevac. The first flight that flew out of this airport dates back to 1 May 1935. As of today, it is the largest airport in Serbia that carries out cargo services.
The Kostolac Airport was built in 1988. The airport is quite close to Pozarevac and Kostolac town centre. One interesting thing to note here is that landing on the Danube water plane is similar to landing on an aircraft carrier.
Paracin Airport, or Davidovac Airport, is located near Paracin town, Serbia. The runway is 50 metres in width and 900 metres in length. It sits at a height of 532 feet.
Located in Vrsac, this airport is one of the smallest airports in Serbia that serves as the training school under the SMATSA Aviation Academy. It has five hangars accommodating flights to agriculture aviation and the school.
