Road Tax in Tripura
As per Tripura Motor Vehicles Tax Act, 1972, every individual owning any motorised vehicle needs to pay a certain amount as Tripura road tax. The state Government collects this revenue to improve and maintain the public road across the state. Barring that, a specific portion of the tax goes towards ensuring the safety of the taxpayers on the road.
The tax amount will depend on the type of vehicle and its purpose of utilisation. Tripura Road Tax Calculation Method
The calculation of road tax in Tripura depends on the following factors.

Tripura road tax rate follows 2%, 3%, 10% and 12.5% rates, as per the Central and State Government rules and regulations.

Road Tax for Two-wheeler Vehicles in Tripura

Rs.2200 for one-time tax for 15 years and Rs.1000 for every 5 years from then.
Two-wheeler of more than Rs.1 lakh with gear, used for personal use.
Rs.2650 as one-time tax for first 15 years and Rs.1100 for every 5 years after that.

Rs.6900 for first 15 years and Rs.3450 for every 5 years.
Between Rs.10 lakh and Rs.15 lakh
Rs.7550 for 15 years and Rs.3775 for every 5 years after that.
More than Rs.15 lakh
Rs.8250 for 15 years and Rs.4125 for every 5 years.
Road Tax for Commercial Vehicles in Tripura
The State Government levies Tripura Parivahan tax differently than they charge on two-wheelers and four-wheelers. It is determined by the Registered Laden weight capacity of the vehicles.

- Visit the official website of Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, also known as Parivahan portal.
- Select “Online Services” on the Home Page and click on “Vehicle Related Services”.
- Choose “Tripura” from the drop-down menu.
- On the next page, enter your vehicle registration number to log in and initiate payment.
- Make the payment on the designated page using internet banking or payment cards.
