Our government did not allocate any new funds for Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana. The functioning bodies can draw resources for this scheme from-
- Existing schemes, such as the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Indira Awas Yojana, Backward Regions Grant Fund, etc.
- Gram panchayat’s revenue
- Central and State Finance Commission Grants
- The Member of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme
- Corporate Social Responsibility funds
The primary goal was to develop the physical infrastructure and socio-economic status of the first village by 2016. By the end of 2019, 2 more Adarsh Villages must be ready and 5 more by 2019 to 2024. This indicates that each MP should develop a total number of 6,433 Adarsh Grams of 2,65,000 gram panchayats.
