In 2016, the Andhra Pradesh Government launched the NTR Housing Scheme for urban and rural areas. This scheme aims to develop 10 lakh houses with a total operational cost of ₹16,000 crores.

NTR housing scheme was launched under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and is a part of the Central Government’s ‘housing for all’ scheme. NTR housing scheme caters to housing demands of this state’s rural and urban underprivileged sections.

Similar to the PMAY scheme, NTR Housing Scheme is segregated into two parts. These are PMAY NTR Urban Beneficiary LED Construction (BLC) scheme and PMAY NTR Gramin Housing scheme.

The Andhra Pradesh Government launched NTR Housing Scheme with certain objectives. These are -

• Provide affordable permanent pucca houses to the homeless people in both urban and rural settings.
• Create affordable reconstruction opportunities for existing houses.

You have to fulfil certain eligibility parameters to avail affordable housing options under NTR Housing Scheme in AP. These are -

• Applicants must be a resident of Andhra Pradesh.
• Qualifying individuals must have a Below Poverty Line (BPL) or White Ration Card.
• Applicants must not own any land or houses under any other government housing schemes.

As stated earlier, NTR Housing scheme is a part of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. Hence, NTR housing scheme online application process is similar to that of PMAY.

Follow the steps mentioned below -

Step-1: Visit the official website of PMAY and log in or sign up with your credentials. Next, click on ‘Citizen Assessment’.

Step-2: Select any of the given options, i.e. ‘For Slum Dwellers’ or ‘Benefits under 3 other components’ whichever applies to you. Next, provide ‘Aadhaar Details’.

Step-3: Fill in the form on the next page, enter captcha code and click on ‘Save’.

After this, the authorities will verify your application. If your application is accepted, you will get intimation via email and residential address.

Here is a list of documents individuals need to submit during their application process.

• Identity Proof (Aadhaar card, voter ID, driving licence)
• Income Proof (Also mention details of family income)
• Residential address proof
• Housing details (size of the existing house, number of rooms, and their sizes)
• Bank details
• Caste, Religion certificate (if any), and documents declaring the Below Poverty Line status.

Beneficiaries of the NTR Housing Scheme in Andhra Pradesh can avail the following interest subsidies -

• A subsidy of ₹1.5 lakh is allotted to beneficiaries of the NTR Rural Housing scheme.
• ₹2.5 lakh worth of subsidy is available for the beneficiaries of NTR Urban Housing scheme.
• The government allots an additional subsidy of ₹50,000 to individuals belonging to the Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe.

The government of Andhra Pradesh has come up with various home sizes. The cost of these homes varies as per their size. Below are mentioned the price details of NTR Housing Scheme,

• Price of a house measuring 430 sq. ft. stands at ₹7.71 lakh.
• Houses measuring 365 sq. ft. are worth ₹6.74 lakh.
• The price of a house measuring 300 sq. ft. is set at ₹5.62 lakh.

Beneficiaries willing to check whether they have been selected as homeowners under NTR Housing Scheme in Andhra Pradesh can do so by visiting the official website of Andhra Pradesh State Housing Corporation. For this, follow the steps mentioned below -

Step-1: On the homepage, click on ‘Gruha Pravesh Mahotsvam Ben List.’

Step-2: A new webpage will open with a list of selected beneficiaries. Here, choose function type and key in the name of your scheme.

Step-3: Click on ‘Get a Report.’ Here, you can see multiple links for different beneficiaries. Keep on clicking links until you get to see the beneficiary list applicable to you.

Step-4: Click on ‘Export to Excel’ to export the beneficiary list of NTR Housing Scheme in Andhra Pradesh in excel format. You can use this data for your reference.
