Pakyong Airport is the one and only Greenfield Airport in the Northeast. The airport started its commercial flight operations in October 2018. It is a domestic airport in the state's capital city, Gangtok. The airport is about 30 kilometres in the southern part of Gangtok, spread across an area of beyond 200 acres. Both SpiceJet and Druk Air have commenced their airlifts to Pakyong. As a result, reaching the city has become very easy.
So, this is all about the only airport in Sikkim which enables its citizens to travel to various places and visitors from different areas of India to visit here. If you plan a foreign trip, you can access the nearest international airport at Bagdogra.
Singtam, Rangpo, and Namchi are the important and busiest cities with the proper roadway and railway networks, from where you can visit Gangtok to board flights and travel to other states of India.
