Bhuntar Airport or most commonly known as Kullu-Manali Airport is situated near the bank of River Beas. Inaugurated in 2008, this airport in Himachal Pradesh is only 10 km away from Kullu city centre.
This airport has only one runway, offering flights to Delhi, Shimla, and Chandigarh with airlines like Alliance Air. The runway is about to expand by 550 m shortly.

The proposal for this airport was provided after the construction of the defence airport in Lupsuk, China. Its main motive is to provide defence protection to the country from the part of the state that is sharing a border with China.
