1. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (AMD), Ahmedabad

Named after the first deputy prime minister of India, this airport is located almost 9 km away from the city of Ahmedabad. It offers flights through a total of 14 airlines that are in operation at this airport, currently. 

In addition, it is the largest and busiest airport in Gujarat. Inaugurated in 1937, this airport started offering international flights in 1991.

2. Surat Airport (STV), Surat

Located 11 km away from the city of Surat, this airport is the second busiest airport in Gujarat. Inaugurated in 1970, it spreads over a total area of 770 acres. Moreover, located near NH 53 and Dumus Road, the accessibility to this airport near Gujarat becomes very easy.

3. Vadodara Airport (BDQ), Vadodara

Established in 1937, this airport is currently the third busiest airport in Gujarat. It was ranked as the second cleanest airport in India in the year 2020. Conveniently located about 5 km from the city centre, this airport has impressed passengers with its easy connectivity.

This is a domestic airport, offering flights to Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Diu. Moreover, situated on NH 27, it can be very easily accessible by passengers.

8. Dholera International Airport

About 80 kilometres from Ahmedabad lies the Dholera Airport is an upcoming international airport that is undergoing construction. This upcoming airport is supposed to spread over 1426 hectares and is to accommodate at least 2 runways. The main objective to establish this international airport is to help control the air traffic at Ahmedabad Airport.

9. Deesa Airport

The Deesa Airport is currently under construction and is to be fully used as an airbase by the Indian Air Force in the near future. Situated in the princely state of Palanpur, this airport was once known to be involved in the famous 2G scam and other illegal activities. Therefore, the Indian Air Force discontinued passenger operations and is taking the power of using it as a military airbase.

10. Mandvi Airport

Considering the necessity of having more flying institutes in the Indian state of Gujarat, a new airport was proposed in Mandvi. The main objective of this Mandvi Airport was to provide proper training to people who pursued flying. Moreover, the construction of this airport is taking place in an area that was once a major port in the Kutch district of Gujarat.
