What is the procedure to remove the name of a family member from the voter list after their death?

To remove the name of a family member from the voter list, you need to visit the official Election Commission website. Select ‘Form 7- Objection and Self Deletion’. Provide the necessary details and choose the option of requesting to delete the family member’s name  Then, select the reason behind this. Enter the voter ID number and other details. Submit it along with death certificate of the person.

How to remove duplicate entries?

If you are already enrolled and come across duplicate entries, you can remove them by filling up Form 7. You can do so by visiting the official website of the Election Commission of India and following similar steps as removing someone's name due to their death.  After this, choose to delete your name from the electoral roll and the reason as ‘Already Enrolled’. Next, submit this form and receive its reference number.
