How to Apply for a Voter ID in Haryana Online?

Whether you're registering as a first-time voter, updating your voter details, or checking your voter registration status, Haryana's voter services are available to eligible Indian citizens aged 18 years or above who ordinarily reside in the constituency where they wish to enrol. 

With Haryana's SIR 2026 voter verification exercise currently in progress, it is a good time to confirm that your details are correct and your name appears on the electoral roll, as only voters listed in the electoral roll are eligible to vote in elections.

Before applying for a voter ID in Haryana, make sure you meet the following eligibility requirements:

• You must be an Indian citizen.

• You must be 18 years old or above, or turn 18 on 1 January, 1 April, 1 July, or 1 October of the year in which the electoral roll is revised.

• You must usually live in the constituency where you want to register as a voter. This includes people living in rented accommodation and students staying in hostels if it is their regular place of residence. 

• You must not be disqualified from voter registration under election laws. This includes individuals who are not Indian citizens, have been declared of unsound mind by a competent court, or have been barred from voting due to election-related offences.

Haryana voters register and manage their entries through the national Citizen Service Portal (voters.eci.gov.in). The older NVSP portal (nvsp.in) now automatically redirects to voters.eci.gov.in.

Online Steps to Apply for a Voter ID in Haryana

Step 1: Visit the voter services portal and sign in using your mobile number and OTP.

Step 2: Select the voter form that matches your requirement.

Step 3: Enter your personal details, address, and constituency information.

Step 4: Upload the required documents and submit your Voter ID application in Haryana.

Step 5: Make a note of your application reference ID for future status tracking.

Step 6: A Booth Level Officer (BLO) may verify your details before your voter registration is approved and added to the electoral roll.

Offline Steps to Apply for a Voter ID in Haryana

Step 1: Visit your nearest Electoral Registration Office or Voter Facilitation Centre and collect the required application form.

Step 2: Fill in the form with your personal, address, and constituency details.

Step 3: Attach self-attested copies of the required supporting documents.

Step 4: Submit the completed application to the concerned election authority or your local BLO.

Step 5: Once your application is verified and approved, your voter registration will be processed, and the voter ID will be issued.

The documents needed for a Haryana voter ID application may vary based on the service you are requesting. In most cases, first-time applicants should keep the following documents ready:

• One recent passport-sized photograph

• Age proof (for applicants aged 18 to 21 years), such as an Aadhaar card, passport, birth certificate, PAN card, driving licence, or school-leaving certificate

• Address proof showing your current place of residence, such as an Aadhaar card, passport, ration card, bank passbook, or a recent utility bill 

If you are applying to correct voter details, update your address, or make any other changes to your voter record, you may also need supporting documents related to the specific update being requested.

If you have changed your residence after registering as a voter, you should update your voter details to ensure your name appears in the correct electoral roll. The form required depends on where you have moved:

• Form 8: Use this form if you have moved to a new address within the same Assembly constituency and want your voter details updated accordingly.

• Form 6: Use this form if you have moved to a different constituency or another state and need to register at your new address. Once your new registration is approved, your previous voter entry will be removed.

The e-EPIC is a digital version of your voter ID card that can be downloaded and stored on your phone or used whenever required. Follow these steps to download your e-EPIC:

Step 1: Log in to the voter services portal or citizen service portal using your registered mobile number and OTP.

Step 2: Select the "Download e-EPIC" option.

Step 3: Enter your EPIC number or application reference number.

Step 4: Complete the OTP verification linked to your voter record.

Step 5: If your mobile number is not linked to your voter details, complete the required identity verification process.

Step 6: Once the verification is successful, download and save your e-EPIC.

Common e-EPIC Download Issues

• OTP not received: confirm the linked mobile number is active; request a resend after 60 seconds, or update it via e-KYC.

• "Mobile number not linked" error: complete the e-KYC / live face verification flow on voters.eci.gov.in to link a number.

• EPIC not recognised: check you're searching the correct state and constituency — EPIC numbers aren't unique nationally.

You can track your voter ID application using the reference ID generated after submitting your application at voters.eci.gov.in:

1. Select "Track Application Status."
2. Enter the reference ID from your submission, and select "Track Status."

To check your name in the electoral roll directly, use the electoral roll search on voters.eci.gov.in and choose name-wise or EPIC-wise search.

Haryana's Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026 is part of the Election Commission's voter verification exercise to keep the electoral roll accurate and up to date. The Draft Electoral Roll 2026 was published on 31 July 2026, and voters should check that their names and details are correctly listed in the electoral roll. 

If you find any errors or missing information, you can apply for the necessary correction or update through the prescribed voter services process. New voter registration also remains open for eligible citizens.
