One can apply for a voter ID in Chhattisgarh through both online and offline procedures. People who are not comfortable with technology can always opt for the offline procedure. But, to save time and effort, one can apply directly from the official National Voter' Services Portal (NVSP) or the Voters' Service Portal of the Election Commission of India (ECI).

Detailed below is the process of applying for a voter ID in Chhattisgarh online:
Step 1: Visit the official website of the Chief Election Commissioner of Chhattisgarh and navigate to the 'For Voters' section.
Step 2: From the dropdown menu that will open up, click on ‘Apply Online in NVSP for Add Your Name in Electoral Roll / Correction’.
Step 3: You will be redirected to the Voters’ Service Portal. You need to register on this site and log in with the credentials you have received.
Step 4: Choose the option for Form 6 (Register as a New Elector / Voter). Fill up this form by providing the required details such as name, address, gender, date and place of birth, parents’ details, etc.
Step 5: Don’t forget to upload the documents as required and click on the ‘submit’ button.
Step 6: The system will generate an application number. You can use this number to track your application status.
Step 7: After the processing of your application is over, a Booth Level Officer (BLO) will visit your residence to confirm the details you have submitted.
Step 8: After the details have been successfully verified, a voter ID card will be sent to the address you have mentioned in your application.
