Over the years, Morris Garages or MG Motors has successfully positioned itself among the innovation and technology leaders in the Indian automobile industry. The marque aims to strut through the market in the upcoming year, with several automobiles tactically lined up to enter the arena. So, what are the upcoming MG cars in India? Read on to find out.

Among India's top upcoming MG cars, MG Air EV is the only electronic vehicle. However, according to the latest reports, it is going to be India's smallest EV. This car will be available in two battery packs: 17.3kWh and 26.7kWh. These battery packs have been claimed to have 200km and 300km ranges, respectively.
MG’s next car in India is a premium SUV named the MG Marvel X. This hybrid car is powered by a 52.5kWh lithium-ion battery. Moreover, this battery takes 8.5 hours to charge on an AC charger and 40 minutes on a DC fast charger. The car comes installed with a kinetic energy recovery system which improves its range.
MG Motors also plans to launch a brand-new premium sedan in India named the RC-6. In terms of appearance, this automobile gets MG’s signature grille with a crystal design coupled with a coupé-esque look. However, the car stands tall at the height of 198mm, which is significantly higher than most sedans, thereby contributing to its majestic appearance.
But is it only about the looks? Not really.
To carve a niche in the Indian market for premium cars, MG is about to launch MG3 in 2021. This automobile will compete in one of the biggest markets of hatchbacks by combining state-of-the-art technology, innovation and cost-effectiveness. MG3’s price point stands out as a USP for the vehicle. Additionally, it is explicitly designed to possess distinctive features, some of which are underscored below:
This is one of the upcoming MG SUVs in India. It takes several styling cues from the MG Hector, the marque’s top-selling automobile internationally. As a result, its DRL and indicator are placed above the car’s headlamps.
Some variants of the vehicle also feature LED headlamps. Additionally, this car exhibits a more rugged look by possessing front and rear faux skid plates. On the other hand, its interior features a dual-tone layout with soft-touch materials for added comfort.
MG 5 EV has been upgraded with excellent exterior design and polished features. The car is equipped with a single-speed fixed gear and a 52.5kWh battery. The technical features have also been upgraded with a Lane Keep Assist along with Lane Departure Warning, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist and Active Emergency Braking.
The MG eHS was unveiled in the Auto Expo 2023. It is a potent hybrid model that comprises a 16.6kWh battery alongside a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit. The car has paid a lot of importance on the safety of the riders and is equipped with EBD, ABS, a 360-degree camera and multiple airbags.
The interiors of the model has been inspired from well-known German brands like BMW and Volkswagen. The MG 4 is available in 2 variants in terms of battery. On the technical front, the car is equipped with a heated front seat and a heated steering wheel, a digital driver's display, a floating infotainment screen and much more. The vehicle is also equipped with various safety features like adaptive cruise-control and stability control.
The MG Euniq 7 was unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023. It is a spectacular model with premium features and will be competing with models like Kia Carnival. The car offers a top speed of 150 kmph.
MG RX5 is one of the new upcoming MG cars in India. This vehicle is powered by two turbocharged petrol engines of 1.5 litres and 2.0 litres. One of the fascinating aspects of this car is that it also comes in a plug-in hybrid version. Moreover, there are several features loaded in this vehicle, including a panoramic sunroof, a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, etc.
The MG Baojun 530 is still in its conceptual stage. The car is rumoured sport two petrol engines of 1.5 turbocharged and 1.8 litre naturally aspirated units respectively. The car will also include features like LED lenses, electric parking brakes and a panoramic sunroof.
This vehicle has a manual transmission option, and its powerful engine runs at 114 Hp power and 150 Nm torque. In the Indian market, only its petrol version of RX5 is available for now. In addition, the vehicle is also supported with sufficient safety features like an anti-rolling feature and hill descent control.
MG GS is also among the upcoming MG cars in India. This premium SUV is most likely to compete against major car brands. The exterior of this vehicle is designed with stylish and sharp features. Besides such a bold and dynamic outlook, this vehicle also boasts about its interior that has ample cabin space, the latest infotainment system, leather seat upholstery, etc.
