Delhi is the largest metropolitan city in India and owing to its rich cultural heritage it is a major tourist attraction on a global scale. Moreover, Delhi is growing as an industrial and educational hub which is a major spur for attracting foreign nationals from Pakistan to India for better lifestyle, business, employment and career opportunities.
A diplomatic mission known as High Commission for Islamic Republic of Pakistan is established in New Delhi for assisting foreign nationals in their smooth stay in India. The High Commission is responsible for regulating the relationship between India and Pakistan.
Let us go through the functions and services offered by the High Commission.
The High Commission has the following specific functions:
Representing Pakistan in India from a political, economic, social, cultural and defence perspective
Offering support to Pakistani and other foreign nationals, while they are travelling to India
Promoting profitable trade and business exchanges between India and Pakistan
Circulating emergency passports for visitors
Releasing foreign citizens who are members of the Commonwealth if they get detested or arrested in India
Assisting foreign nationals in vacating from India in case of any natural, political, social or medical emergencies
Obtaining mutual profits at a scientific level via bilateral cooperation
For attaining a visa, you need to provide the High Commission with the following documents:
Passport
A fully updated visa application form
Current passport pictures
Proof regarding your accommodation
Proof of round-trip flight bookings
Evidence of the fees paid for visa
Letter of Invitation from Pakistan if you are applying for a visitor’s visa
Documents to prove your civil status
Evidence of having sufficient bank balance
Along with the above list, the Commission can ask you to submit some extra documents with respect to their requirement.
As per jurisdiction, High Commission provides services in:
Maharashtra, Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Nagaland, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Punjab, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Daman and Diu, Puducherry, Uttarakhand, Chandigarh, Lakshadweep, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Telangana, Manipur, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The High Commission for Islamic Republic of Pakistan in New Delhi offers the following consular services to its citizens.
Issuing of visas for various purposes like visit, business, education, conference, pilgrimage etc.
Assisting in obtaining passports for a newborn child
Legalisation and attestation of educational documents, commercial papers, etc.
Issuing birth, death and marriage certificates for Pakistani citizens residing in India
Attestation of POA (Power of Attorney) for Pakistani nationals residing in India
Offering assistance in voluntary renunciation of Pakistani citizenship
Issuance of NOC (No Objection Certificate) for marriage registration, healthcare treatment, burying mortal remnants of Pakistani citizens, etc.
While travelling to a foreign land, it is advisable to sign up with standard international travel insurance to manage any uncertain exigencies like baggage misplacement, theft or judicial issues while travelling. Moreover, it is also recommended to have proper contact information of the High Commission. This will be beneficial in quick and smooth communication with the High Commission for availing seamless and better services.

You need to submit the following documents for obtaining a new passport: A filled-in form (download the relevant form with reference to the age of the applicant) Copy of lost passport Original Pakistan National Identity Card or NICOP (National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis) in case of children Original copy of lodged FIR 6 (front face) passport-size photographs Copy of the Residential Permit or Long Term Visa or Valid Indian Visa Copy of request for visa extension Pakistan Government’s domicile certificate Affidavit stating that no Passport has been issued after the loss or theft
