Traffic disruptions have arisen due to the current construction project worth ₹600 crores, which is being undertaken by the National Highway Authority of India(NHAI) on the 29 km portion of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway that stretches from the Dahisar toll plaza to Talasari. 

The project's focus is, however, to ease road congestion, but the mode of execution has greatly created massive traffic jams, dust pollution, and tension-creating travel for the people living in Mira Road, Vasai, Virar, and Palghar areas.

The Maharashtra Government launched an annual Week-long Road Safety Campaign from January 11 to 17, 2023, to enhance road safety measures and reduce the rate of accidents on the roads. The campaign collaborated with multiple departments, such as the Transport Department, Traffic Police, and Public Works, to address the road safety issue.
