On October 15, 2024, the northbound section of the Third Vashi Creek Bridge was opened to the general public, thus relieving many daily commuters who travel from the Navi Mumbai area to Mumbai. This newly constructed arm has removed one of the chronic constraints on this particular route during peak hours, thus reducing traffic on the existing bridge.

During Road Safety Month, observed from January 15 to February 14, 2024, the Vashi RTO placed a special emphasis on helmet enforcement for two-wheeler riders. They kept a vigil on other aspects, including overspeeding, lane indiscipline, and traffic violations, which are often rampant on the highways and expressways.

At the same time, participatory campaigns, led by volunteers, will be held in public places such as schools, colleges, and markets to teach people the right way to drive without negligence. This aims to attract people and change how they think about safety.

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) also launched a Road Safety Fortnight from January 11th to 25th 2024. The agenda was to train and educate bus drivers on difficult routes such as the ghat sections. These campaigns thus show the whole state's sentiments to improve road safety.
