Follow these steps to become a Para Commando in the Indian Army:
After completing your 10+2 in any stream, you can pursue a degree in any field from a certified board. Graduation is the absolute minimum required for joining the Indian Army.
Candidates interested in becoming a Para or Para SF Commando must have prior experience as soldiers or officers in the armed forces. So, you need to qualify in either of the examinations held by the defence services to hire experts in various cadres.
Before applying to be a Commando, make sure you meet the following basic eligibility requirements:
Gain relevant experience as a soldier or officer before joining the Parachute Regiment to become a Para SF commando. Candidates who achieve 100% marks in physical fitness and 50% marks in written assessments can become a Para Commando.Â
These candidates may be required to complete extra examinations to be selected for the Para Regiment.
Para Commandos may be required to complete their training after passing the medical test and meeting all eligibility standards. They are trained for six months, whereas Para Commandos are trained for three months.Â
After successfully completing their training, these professionals may be required to take basic courses.

Soldiers in the Para Commando who take on the role of a Sepoy are paid Rs. 17,300 per month. Para Commando (Special Forces) soldiers in the Indian Army get between 3.6 to 4.62 Lakhs annually. Members of the Para Battalion also receive a monthly Special Forces Allowance of 6,000 INR in addition to their regular pay.
