TES is a distinguished opportunity for young engineers. It opens the door to a rewarding career as a commissioned officer, integrating technical knowledge with military leadership.
Through the Indian Army TES Entry, you can ascend to the ranks of the world's second-largest active army and contribute to the nation's defence. Learn more about its eligibility criteria, selection and application process, alongside all necessary documents.
The full form of TES is the Technical Entry Scheme. It is one of the greatest opportunities to be an officer of the Indian Army from the Engineering Core. This test takes place 2 times every year.
You do not need to appear for written tests, such as NDS or UPSC-CDS. Aspirants can apply for the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview based on their 12th standard (Physics, Chemistry, Maths) results. The Indian Army admits selected applicants under TES recruiting to engineering courses. After successfully completing the course, they are promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.
The Indian Army’s TES selection procedure consists of SSB interviews, medical testing, and final selection. The TES selection procedure seeks the finest and brightest to join the Indian Army's elite technical corps, with a concentration on intelligence, physical fitness, and character evaluation.
Shortlisted candidates will receive an invitation to the Services Selection Board (SSB) interview, which consists of the following stages:
Stage I: Stage I consists of two tests, the Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) and the Picture Perception and Description Test (PP&DT).
Stage II: Comprises Psychological tests, Group Testing Officer Tasks (GTO), and personal interviews.
Conference: The final selection conference is conducted and the candidates' entire performance is evaluated.
Candidates who clear the SSB interview are required to take a medical test to determine their medical fitness for serving in the Indian Army.
A merit list is developed based on the candidate's performance in the SSB interview and medical examination.
