Beed is a city in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra, which is currently the administrative headquarters in the Beed district. There are various mythological stories related to this area, which enhances its historical significance. There is one official RTO office here, with the code MH-23, and another in Ambejogai, with the code MH-44. These offices are responsible for handling all traffic-related activities.

Yes, it is mandatory to have vehicle insurance if you own a vehicle in Beed. The Motor Vehicles Act of 1988 makes owning a policy that at least covers third-party damages compulsory. If you drive an uninsured car, you must pay a fine of ₹2000-₹4000. Moreover, traffic authorities might also penalise you with an imprisonment charge for about three months.

Beed has been facing traffic congestion, mainly because of its proximity to National Highway 561. According to a recent report, work has already started on six lanes of the Beed Bypass for reducing the traffic issues.
