RTO Nashik

Nashik is a city in the north western part of Maharashtra. It is known as the ‘Wine Capital of India’ because half of India’s vineyards are located there. • Charges for driving vehicles without a permit: Up to ₹10000; imprisonment of up to 6 months

• Charges for carrying more passengers than the seating capacity: ₹200 for every extra passenger

• Charges for driving without wearing the seatbelt: ₹1000

• Charges for using a cell phone while driving: ₹5000

Yes, it is mandatory to have vehicle insurance while driving in Nashik. Vehicle owners are penalised for driving without having insurance. It may also lead to imprisonment for up to 3 months. 

Penalty for driving a vehicle without insurance is ₹2000. Repeating the offence will lead to an increased penalty of ₹4000.

As per report, an accident in the Yeola-Manmad road in the Yeola area of Nashik resulted in the death of 1 victim and injured 5 others. A container truck exceeded the speed limit and crashed with multiple cars causing the accident. 

Another report cited the case of a 62-year-old farmer who had an accident in the Adgaon area in Nashik. The man was riding on his bike and collided head-on with another motorcycle. The man was taken to a nearby hospital and declared dead two hours later.

A road safety campaign to reduce accident-prone black spots in Nashik was launched by the Ambad Industries & Manufacturers Association (AIMA) along with Resilient India NGO, RTO Nashik, the Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC), the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) and the police department.

The campaign aimed at building better-engineered roads. It also focused on making drivers aware of the importance of abiding by traffic rules in order to avoid accidents.
