RTO Solapur

Registration charges vary as per the size of the vehicle. Personal and commercial vehicles both have different charges. Following are the vehicle registration charges in Solapur: 

• Two wheelers new Registration: ₹300 - ₹5000

• Four wheelers new Registration: ₹600 - ₹5000

• Commercial vehicle new Registration: ₹1000 - ₹1500

• Two wheelers renewal: ₹200

• Four wheelers renewal: ₹600

• Three-wheeler transport: ₹400

Solapur RTO implements the laws of Maharashtra road tax. The following are the charges:

• For 2-wheelers, road tax ranges between 10-12% of the vehicle cost

• For 4-wheelers, the road tax usually ranges between 11%-15% depending on the price of the vehicle

If you violate the traffic rules in Solapur, you are bound to be penalised. As per new guidelines, the following Maharashtra traffic fines are applicable in Solapur:

• Driving without a helmet: ₹1000, community service for up to 3 months

• Driving without a licence: ₹5000 or community service

• Driving while using a phone: ₹5000

• Unauthorised vehicle or licence: ₹1000 - ₹5000

Yes, it is mandatory to have motor insurance when driving a vehicle. Each car/bike must have at least third-party insurance coverage. If you are caught driving without one, you will be charged ₹2000 as a fine for a first-time offence. The penalty amount will increase to ₹4000 for a second offence.

As per reports, 148 people lost their lives in the past two years due to a lack of traffic regulations and heavy traffic in Solapur. The Hadapsar flyover was closed for 48 hours for testing purposes. It led to a surge of vehicles on the Pune – Solapur road through the weekend. 

Recently PM Modi flagged off the Mumbai-Solapur Vande Bharat express. According to experts, this train will be a milestone to boost trade in Solapur. It will also significantly lower the traffic congestion on the roadways of Solapur. 

Due to technical obstacles, Solapur airport has been closed for a long time. However, this airport is now taken under the PM UDAN scheme in an effort to revive the airport. As per experts, the resumption of flights in this airport will take a load off the roads of Solapur.
