1. Registration of Vehicles

• ₹1,200 and ₹1,200 for four-wheelers with 4 and 5 seats aged between 6 and 9 years
• ₹900 and ₹750 for four-wheelers with 4 and 5 seats aged more than 9 years
• ₹2,400 for four-wheelers with 6 seats aged under 3 years
• ₹1,800 for four-wheelers with 6 seats aged between 3 and 6 years
• ₹1,200 for four-wheelers with 6 seats aged between 6 and 9 years

As per the Motor Vehicles Act, it is mandatory to have motor insurance for all vehicle owners. This is applicable for both private and commercial automobiles and the insurance policy must cover damages to third parties in the event of an accident. 

If you are caught driving on public roads without a valid vehicle insurance policy, a penalty of ₹2,000 is chargeable. For repeat offences, this fine will increase to ₹4,000 and may include up to 3 months of imprisonment.

As per latest reports, the Ludhiana traffic police department has reopened a cut around the Pakhowal Road bridge. It was initially closed off in May to manage traffic near the bridge.
