Italy and India share a bilateral relationship that dates back to the era of the Roman Empire. These two countries have maintained a political relationship since India's independence in 1947. 

India and Italy signed an MoU in 2017 to boost bilateral trade, and because of this MoU and its subsequent plan of action, the trading numbers between the two countries have increased immensely.   

The Italian Embassy and Consulate General in India maintain the relationship and offer all types of consular services to the citizens of both countries.

Together with the Consulate Generals, the Embassy offers visa and immigration services to its citizens. If you apply for an Italian visa at the Italian Embassy or Consulate in India, you need to have international travel insurance.
