National Highway 65 (NH 65) in India: Routes, Length, Entry/Exit Points & Rules

NH 65 runs through four states namely:

The National Highway 65 starts from Pune near the NH 48 junction and terminates at Machilipatnam in the state of Andhra Pradesh at its junction with NH 216. NH 65 connects several significant places like Indapur, Solapur, Vijayawada, Hyderabad, and Suryapet. 

The section between Vijayawada and Hyderabad is known as Vijayawada–Hyderabad Expressway and it is one of the prominent expressways in the country.

Here are the speed limits set by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) for various categories of vehicles:

• Motorcycles: 80 km per hour
• Quadricycle: 60 km per hour
• Three-wheeled vehicles: 50 km per hour
• Motor vehicles with not more than eight seats in addition to the driver’s seat used to carry passengers: 100 km per hour
• Motor vehicles having nine or more seats in addition to the driver’s seat used to carry passengers: 90 km per hour
• Motor vehicles used to carry goods: 80 km per hour

India has an extensive network of over 480 toll roads, most of which are owned by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). The toll rates vary between different states, highways and types of vehicles. Here are the toll rates for NH 65 in Andhra Pradesh:

There are various key points one should keep in their mind when travelling on the route of NH 65 for the first time. These are:

• You should always follow the signs and symbols on the road and maintain the permissible speed limit. 

• Maintain an adequate distance from the vehicle ahead of you on NH 65, as the route is crowded during daytime.

• Check the weather report before embarking on your journey along NH 65 because the road can get dangerous during heavy rains. 

• Avoid late-night driving on NH 65 as it can lead to low visibility and exhaustion.
