mAadhaar App - Meaning, Working & Download Process

The government has introduced several provisions related to the Aadhaar card. In 2017, it introduced the mAadhaar application, and as of today, it is downloaded by 50+ million people. This application allows users to carry their Aadhaar card with them digitally without having to carry their actual Aadhaar card. It contains all of their demographic data along with their photograph. Users can add their profiles and access their Aadhaar card anytime, anywhere. The application allows a total of 5 accounts to be added. It is a password-protected application that ensures that nobody else can access an individual's Aadhaar card.

The mAadhaar app is supported on Android devices as well as on iOS devices.

Download mAadhaar on Android devices

Step 1 - Go to the Play Store.

Step 2 - Search for the mAadhaar app.

Step 3 - Click on Download.

Step 4 - Open it and allow all app-based permissions once it is downloaded.

Step 5 - Select a language of your preference.

Step 6 - Then, enter your mobile number registered with your Aadhaar.

Step 7 - You will receive an OTP.

Step 8 - The application will be ready to use after verifying the OTP.

Download mAadhaar on iOS devices

Step 1 - Go to the App Store.

Step 2 - Search for the mAadhaar app.

Step 3 - Click on Download.

Step 4 - Open it and allow all app-based permissions once it is downloaded.

Step 5 - Select a language of your preference.

Step 6 - Then, enter your mobile number registered with your Aadhaar.

Step 7 - You will receive an OTP.

Step 8 - The application will be ready to use after verifying the OTP.

Follow the steps mentioned below to create your profile on the mAadhaar app:

Step 1 - Open the application.

Step 2 - Enter the password that you created.

Step 3 - On the top right corner of the page, there will be three dots. Click on them.

Step 4 - Click on 'Add Profile'.

Step 5 - Next, add your Aadhaar number or simply scan the QR code.

Step 6 - Click on ‘Next’.

Step 7 - An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.

Step 8 - After the OTP is verified, the process of creating your profile is complete.

After creating their profile, users must link their Aadhaar with their mAadhaar accounts. This process is the same for both Android and iOS users. Follow the below-mentioned steps to link your Aadhaar to your mAadhaar account:

Step 1 - Open the app and enter the password.

Step 2 - Select the ‘Register My Aadhaar’ option.

Step 3 - Create a password.

Step 4 - Enter your Aadhaar number and the Captcha.

Step 5 - After that, an OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number.

Step 6 - After verifying the OTP, you will be able to access your Aadhaar card.
