If your PAN and Aadhaar name does not match, you can either consider changing the name on your Aadhaar card or the name on your PAN card. In this regard, you can follow the necessary steps –

The steps to change your name on your Aadhaar card – 

Step 1: Visit the official portal of SSUP.

Step 2: Then select fields that you need to change or update.

Step 3: After that, fill up those fields with accurate details.

Step 4: Submit that form, and the website will automatically generate a Unique Request Number (URN).

Step 5: Select BPO for review of the update. Then attach scanned copies of the original documents.

Step 6: Lastly, you can check your Aadhaar status using the provided URN.

Step 1: Go to the closest facility.

Step 2: Give the executive your Aadhaar Card and personal information.

Step 3: Complete the form and deliver it to the executive, along with the necessary documentation.

Step 4: Your biometric will be needed to authenticate the information and feed the details.

Step 5: Your original document will be returned once it has been checked and scanned.

Step 6: When the procedure is finished, a receipt with the acknowledgment number will be provided to you.

You mainly require two documents to change the name on your Aadhar card. The documents include:

• Supporting documents for Name Change: It can include a marriage certificate, gazette notification, divorce decree, or adoption certificate.

Here are the charges for changing your name on your Aadhaar card, both online and offline:

• Online: The fee for updating your name online through the Aadhaar Self-Service Update Portal is ₹50. You can pay using a debit/credit card or net banking.

• Offline: The fee for updating your name at an Aadhaar Seva Kendra is also ₹50. You can pay this fee in cash or through online payment methods such as debit/credit card or net banking.

Step 1: Visit the official portal of NDSL.

Step 2: From the home page, select Application Type. And then, choose Changes or Correction in existing PAN Data/Reprint of PAN Card (No changes in existing PAN Data).

Step 3: Provide all information in their respective fields, such as First name, Last name, Email ID, etc.

Step 4: Then confirm your Indian citizenship and then submit your application using a Captcha code.

Step 5: Lastly, the website will generate a Token number and then proceed with your PAN Application form.

Step 1: Open the NDSL website and download the New PAN Form.

Step 2: Specify all necessary information.

Step 3: Include supporting documents, such as identification and address proofs and passport-size photos.

Step 4: Finally, go to the local NSDL collecting facility to submit the form.

To correct your name on the PAN card in India, you must specify a set of specific documents. This includes:

• Proof of Name Change: This can include a marriage certificate, gazette notification, divorce decree, or affidavit.

• Proof of Identity: This can include an Aadhar Card, Voter ID card, Passport, or driving licence.

• Proof of Address: This can include an Aadhar card, Voter ID card, Passport, Driving Licence, Electricity, water, or telecom bill( not more than three months old), etc.

• Recent Passport-Sized Photographs: You need 2 passport-size photos.

• Existing PAN Card: A copy of the current PAN card is to be submitted along with the application. 

The fee for updating the names in the PAN card in India is the same for both online and offline. The charges vary on the communication address provided for the name change.

• Address within India: ₹110 (including GST).

• Address outside India: ₹1,020 (including GST and communication charges).
