RTO Dhamtari

Dhamtari city is the headquarter and Municipal Corporation of the Dhamtari district in Chhattisgarh. The RTO code of this city is CG-05 where one can issue driving licences, registration certificates or permits. Two-wheelers

• Below 70 kgs: ₹8000 (5 to 15 years), ₹6000 (above 15 years)

• From 70 kgs to 200cc: ₹15000 (5 to 15 years), ₹8000 (above 15 years)

• From 70 kgs to 325cc: ₹20000 (below 5 years), ₹10000 (5 to 15 years)

• Above 325cc: ₹30000 (below 5 years), ₹15000 (5 to 15 years)

Four-wheelers

• New vehicles (5 lakhs and above): 5% to 6% of the vehicle’s price

• Old Vehicles (below 800 kgs): ₹1 lakh (5 to 15 years), ₹50000 (above 15 years)

• Old Vehicles (800 kgs to 2000 kgs): ₹1.5 lakh (5 to 15 years), ₹1 lakh (above 15 years)

• Old Vehicles (above 2000 kgs): ₹6 lakhs (5 to 15 years), ₹3 lakhs (above 15 years)

• Commercial Vehicle: ₹150 to ₹200 per seat per quarter

Dhamtari follows the new traffic fines of Chhattisgarh for individuals who break traffic rules on the streets. Here is the list of the traffic fines of Dhamtari:

• Drunk Driving: ₹10000 (first time) and ₹15000 (repetition)

• Rash Driving: ₹1000 to ₹5000 (first time), ₹10000 (repetition)

• Driving/Riding Without a Permit: ₹10000 and/or 6 months to 1 year of imprisonment

• Blocking Emergency Vehicles: ₹10000 and /or 6 months of imprisonment

• Driving/Riding Without a Licence: ₹5000 and/or community service

• Driving Without a Helmet: ₹1000 and/or licence scrapping for 3 months

Yes, Dhamtari RTO punishes people for not acquiring insurance while on the roads. In this regard, it is mandatory to have a motor insurance  in Dhamtari. This act will attract a fine of ₹2000 for the first time and ₹4000 for the repetition of the same offence according to the Indian Road Rules.

According to a report, traffic congestion and roadblocks are increasing every year with the increase of vehicles. However, the transport department of the state has decided to install traffic signals on National Highway 30 to reduce jams in various areas.

Another report suggests that the Police Department of Chhattisgarh has released several routes and parking plans leading to Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh (SVNS) International Cricket Stadium for the match days near Dhamtari.
