RTO Office in Bijapur - CG-20

• Driving without a seatbelt: ₹1000

• Driving without a licence: ₹5000 and/or up-to 1-month imprisonment

• Rash Driving: First offence: ₹1000 - ₹5000, ₹10000 for repeated offence

• Driving without RC: ₹2000 - ₹5000, repeated violation will incur fine that ranges between ₹5000 - ₹10000

• Drunk Driving: First offence: ₹10000, ₹15000 for a subsequent offence

Yes, the government has made it mandatory to have motor insurance when driving in the Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh. All vehicles registered in the Bijapur RTO region must have at least a third-party insurance cover. The penalty for driving without third party insurance cover ranges between ₹2000 - ₹4000.  You may also get first-party insurance to safeguard your vehicle against accidental damage. However, it is not mandatory by law.

As per reports, bus services resumed in the Bijapur district after 15 years. The long suspension of public road transport services caused serious difficulties for the locals. On the auspicious day of Independence, bus services resumed on 15 August. The event created visible excitement and relief among the locals.

Two people died in the Bijapur district as a bus lost control and overturned in the area. The accident took place on a Sunday morning when a public bus lost control and caused the death of 2 people. The accident also left five people injured.  

A fatal road accident claimed the life of 5 people in Bijapur. The victims were returning to Bijapur after a marriage ceremony when their van met in collision with another 4-wheeler. The disastrous event left five people dead as well as injuring 42 other people.

The month of January is dedicated to Road Safety Awareness in India. To implement the 32nd National Road Safety Month in Bijapur, traffic police inaugurated the campaign with a bike rally in Bijapur. 

The local district police, as well as the CRPF, collaborated in the campaign. The objective of the rally was to create awareness about traffic rules and regulations. 

As a part of this campaign, the administration and police department hosted street plays in markets and busy localities. These plays are directed to inform and educate the audience on traffic laws.
