RTO Jhajjar

Located in the Indian State of Haryana, Jhajjar is a district that operates the RTO services for HR-14. Jhajjar RTO regulates vehicles with various road rules and regulations under the instructions of its Transport Department. Jhajjar RTO levies charges from the citizens for the registration processes of a vehicle. These charges are as follows :

• FasTag: ₹600

• Temporary Registration: ₹1200 to ₹1500 (up to 1 month)

• Parking Fee: ₹2000 to ₹4000

• Hypothecation: ₹1500

Jhajjar RTO maintains the Haryana road tax depending on the categories of the vehicles and their prices. These are:

• Four-Wheelers (below ₹6 lakhs): 5% of the vehicle value

• Four-Wheelers (from ₹6 lakhs to ₹20 lakhs and above): 8% to 10% of the vehicle value

• Two-Wheelers (below ₹75000): 4% of the vehicle value

• Two-Wheelers (from ₹75000 to ₹2 lakhs and above): 6% to 8% of the vehicle value

• Commercial Vehicle (4 to 6 seats): ₹600 to ₹625 quarterly

• Commercial Vehicle (7 to 12 seats): ₹1450 quarterly

Jhajjar follows the same rate as the traffic fines in Haryana for not following the traffic rules. Some of the traffic fines in Jhajjar are as follows:

• Driving without a registration certificate: ₹5000 (first time), ₹10000 (repetition)

• Rash driving: ₹5000 (first time), ₹10000 (repetition)

• Overtaking violations: ₹5000 to ₹10000

• Driving without a helmet: ₹1000 

• Driving/Riding without a licence: ₹5000 

• Smoking while driving: ₹500 to ₹1500

• Blocking emergency vehicles: ₹10000 and /or 6 months of imprisonment

• Racing on the streets: ₹5000 and/or 3 months of imprisonment for the first offence, and ₹10000 and/or 1 year of imprisonment for a second time

• Juvenile driving offences: an imprisonment of 3 years and cannot apply for registration for 1 year and cannot possess a driving licence until the age of 25 years

• Not reporting a change of address within the prescribed time: ₹500 for the first time and ₹1000 for the repetition of the same offence

• Violating air pollution standards: ₹2000 for the first time along with 3 months of licence scrapping and ₹4000 for the repetition of this same act along with 3 months of licence seizure

Yes, it is mandatory to have a motor insurance otherwise Jhajjar RTO will penalise ₹2000 for the first time for not having third-party insurance and ₹4000 for the repetition of this same offence according to the Indian Road Rules. Thus, one must acquire third-party insurance in Jhajjar to avoid legal obligations.
