RTO Mahendragarh

Mahendragarh, formerly called Kanoud, is a well-known historical site. This place is adorned with many religious sites and ancient monuments, which are frequently visited by travel enthusiasts. Since this is a rural district in Haryana, there is only one Regional Transport Office known by the code HR-34. 

This RTO functions to keep the traffic in check and provide various vehicular services to the residents of Mahendragarh.

The Regional Transport Office in Mahendragarh has several functions. However, its main role is to ensure all registered vehicles follow the traffic rules and other set guidelines.

When any individual disobeys the traffic rules in Mahendragarh, the traffic authority penalises them. This can be in the form of traffic fines, seizing of one’s driving licence, or even imprisonment in some cases.

• Driving without a valid licence: ₹5000

• Not having the vehicle registration certificate: ₹5000 if caught for the first time, ₹10.000 for the second time

As per the regulations of the Vehicles Motor Act of 1988, it is mandatory to have motor insurance to operate motor vehicles in any public space. Considering the huge population in India and the subsequent increase in vehicles on the road, there are chances of road accidents. It is advised to at least own a third-party liability cover.

Road accidents are quite common in Mahendragarh. A college student died in a truck hit, and there was another student who was badly injured. This incident happened on the Mahendragarh road in Narnaul town, as covered by a news report.

The Mahendragarh-Sehlang road has also witnessed several road accidents, mostly due to its road condition. As per news, the potholes on roads are posing a great threat to daily commuters. This issue is yet to be resolved by the authorities. 

The Tribune published a news article where it mentioned a road safety campaign in Mahendragarh. The Central University of Haryana (CUH) and the Indian Road Safety Campaign organised a five-day faculty development program. Eminent speakers addressed the importance of this campaign. In addition, they added that every citizen should be more cautious and responsible for road safety.
