RTO Hatin

Hatin is located 65 km south of Delhi, keeping NH44 at its east and KMP at its north. The people of this town and Municipal Committee in Palwal district of Haryana rely on its 1 RTO (HR-52) for various needs ranging from getting a driver's licence to transferring vehicle ownership.

Let’s take a look at the Hatin RTO’s functions:

There are two types of vehicle registration that Hatin RTO issues: 

• Temporary Registration 

• Permanent registration

One must carry the registration certificate at all times while driving, especially on public roads. 

The vehicle registration charges also come along with another set of charges after the purchase of a vehicle. Here is a list of some of those charges: 

• Registration charges: ₹600 (applicable to every vehicle) 

• Temporary registration charges: ₹1200 – ₹1500 

• Hypothecation charges: ₹1500 (In case the purchase of a vehicle is made with a loan)

• Number plate charges (For HSRP number plate too): ₹230 - ₹400 

• FasTag charges: ₹600

• Parking fee or, State Development Charges: ₹2000 -₹4000

Road tax in Hatin follows a similar calculation method to the road tax in Haryana follows. The list can provide a comprehensive idea:  

• Four-wheelers priced up to ₹6 lakh: 5% of the cost of the vehicle’s 

• Four-wheelers priced between ₹6 lakh and ₹20 lakh: 8% of the cost of the vehicle’s

• Four-wheelers priced more than ₹20 lakh: 10% of the cost of the vehicle’s

• Two-wheelers priced up to ₹75000: 4% of the cost of the vehicle’s

• Two-wheelers priced between ₹75000 to ₹2 lakh: 6% of the cost of the vehicle’s

• Two-wheelers priced more than ₹2 lakh: 8% of the cost of the vehicle’s

• Commercial vehicles with 4 seats or less: ₹600 (quarterly)

• Commercial vehicles that have 4 to 6 seats: ₹625 (quarterly)

• Commercial vehicles that have 7 to 12 seats: ₹1450 (quarterly) 

In Hatin, specific traffic fines are applicable for a traffic rule violation. Here is a short list containing a few common traffic rule violations:

• Load projection violation: ₹10000

• Violation of air pollution standards: ₹10000

• Carrying dangerous materials: ₹500 to ₹1500  

• Driving physically/mentally unfit: ₹1000 to ₹2000

• Drunken driving: Court  
• Driving defective vehicle: ₹10000

It is mandatory to have a motor insurance in Hatin as it provides cover for unplanned liabilities. Vehicle insurance can provide the following benefits:

Furthermore, there is a penalty of ₹2000 to ₹4000 involved if one does not have vehicle insurance, and it may also lead to 3 months of imprisonment and cancellation of driving licence and vehicle registration.

According to a 28th January report, the repair work of 90 roads was paused even after an amount of ₹100 crore was sanctioned. However, the Hodal, Prithla, and Palwal Assembly segments are the only ones that are facing problems due to the non-release of funds post-estimate submission. Only the Hatin segment got approval.
