A tragic incident claimed the life of Shabarish Shivadas, aged 29 years, from Salem in Tamil Nadu. This accident happened around 3:50 in the morning. A car was speeding and headed towards a sharp turn, which wagered its control. It hit the median and collided with an oncoming bike. Both vehicles fell off the flyover to the road located below.

Another recent tragic event involved a 21-year-old engineering student who died after a Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus ran over him.

On February 9, 2024, the Yeshwanthpur RTO Office launched its annual Road Safety Week campaign to raise awareness about road safety and promote responsible driving behaviour.
