RTO Chamarajnagar

Chamarajanagar is located in the southernmost part of Karnataka. A lot of areas in the district are covered by dense forest, it was notorious for being the hideout of the famous bandit Veerappan.Tourists from the neighbouring states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala can visit this place from a highway that directly links the district.

Road tax is different for every class of vehicle. It also varies on the age of a vehicle. Here is a list of Karnataka road tax charges you will have to pay for your vehicle:

• New two-wheelers motor vehicles: 10%-12% of the vehicle’s cost

• Old two-wheelers motor vehicles: 25%-93% of the tax payable amount based on the vehicle’s age

• New four-wheeler motor vehicles: 13%-18% of the vehicle’s cost

• Old four-wheeler motor vehicles: 25%-91% of the tax payable based on the vehicle’s age

• Heavy motor vehicles: Karnataka does not charge anything separate for such vehicles. Road tax liability is based on the rates mentioned above.

According to a report from July last year, the Chamarajanagar district authority has initiated a plan to construct a truck terminal to reduce traffic congestion on the highways. The terminal is going to have facilities such as restaurants, a rest house for truck drivers, ATM counters, a hospital, toilets, a bank, gatehouses and dormitories.
