As per reports, heavy rainfall during the monsoon disrupted traffic movement in Ramanagara. Monsoons receive considerable rainfall in the Ramanagara district, which caused a flood in the area. The flood caused severe disruption of traffic on the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway.

The flood in Ramanagara forced the highway traffic to move to the adjacent service road. It resulted in severe traffic jams on the highway throughout the day. In the Ramanagara district, schools declared a holiday due to the excessive rain and flood.  

Indian Express reports the tragic death of a 4-year-old in the Ramanagara district. The child, who was thrown off the door of a speeding bus, died after coming under a wheel. It is the rash driving of the driver that threw the child through the open door. 

The child died on the spot after suffering serious injuries to the head. Police continued to look for the driver and attendant who fled the scene after the accident. 

Traffic police of Karnataka collaborated with an app-based company to organise a road safety awareness campaign. The joint venture organised demonstration of safe traffic behaviour and planned interactive sessions to generate awareness among the public. 

The campaign also offered CPR and first-aid training to inspire lifesaving skills among the citizens. Announcements were also made through loudspeakers for wider outreach. The road safety drive reached out to approximately 30000 people and created traffic safety awareness.
