Dahod in Gujarat is famously known as the birthplace of Aurangzeb. It is said that this city was named after Saint Dadhichi. This small city on the banks of the Dudhimati River has one Regional Transport Office. 

The RTO code for Dahod is GJ 20.

The RTO in Dahod is responsible for ensuring rules under the Motor Vehicle Act of 1988, the Central Motor Vehicles Rules of 1989 and state guidelines.

The RTO in Dahod collects road tax, maintaining the same amount as they collect Gujarat road tax. This amount is then used for infrastructural development, maintaining roads, etc. Hence it is compulsory to pay the road tax on time. You must also know the tax amount is uniform all over Gujarat. Previously one could only use the offline mode, but only the online payment option is also available.

• Tractors for commercial use: 3% of the vehicle cost

If anyone violates traffic rules in Dahod, they will have to pay the penalty for their offences as per the Gujarat traffic fines structure. • Over-weighing vehicles: ₹5000 and additional ₹1000 per excess tonne

• Unnecessary honking: ₹1000 

In India, it is mandatory to have motor insurance to drive a vehicle in public spaces as per the Motor Vehicles Act 1988. Those who do not have insurance may have to pay a fine of ₹2000 for the first time and ₹4000 for the subsequent time. Hence, it is better to at least buy third-party insurance coverage. 

There are multiple examples of road accidents that have occurred in Dahod in the last few years. One such instance is of a couple who were hit by a speeding vehicle when they were walking at night. This is a recent incident, and it was reported in News Waali.

A few years back, The Indian Express published news on a serious road accident. In this incident, a truck hit a luxury bus on National Highway 48. Three people died, and 31 were injured. The bus collided with a truck that overturned. Due to this accident, the traffic on NH-48 was interrupted.
