RTO Jamnagar

Jamanagar is a district in Gujarat and it is known for producing Bandhani, a form of textile which is exported all over the globe. Jamnagar is well-connected via the rail network as well as highways. The RTO office at Jamnagar is responsible for regulating traffic flow for ease of transport. It is registered under the code GJ-10.

It is mandatory to have motor insurance while you drive a vehicle in Jamnagar, Gujarat. As per the law of India, each vehicle on-road must have at least a third-party insurance service. This ensures that no victim of a road accident suffers financially. You may also opt for first-party insurance. However, it is not mandatory.

As per news reports, a road accident took the life of 3 people in the Jamnagar district. The incident took place when a family was returning to Jamnagar from a marriage ceremony. As per FIR, their car was going behind a tanker which took a sudden turn. It caused the car to ram into the tanker. 

The tragic accident killed 3 out of 5 people travelling in the vehicle. Police filed an FIR on the charges of rash driving and causing death by negligence.

Gujarat has introduced an official body to curb traffic-related accidents. The Gujarat Road Safety Authority maintains vigilant eyes throughout the state to address road safety measures. Further, it has launched traffic education and awareness mobile vans in different districts and provinces. Owing to their prompt actions and valuable measures, Gujarat has seen a 44% drop in road accidents.  

A road safety awareness program was organised at the Industrial Training Institute in Jamnagar. Seventy-five trainees participated in the event led by the Assistant Vehicle Inspector. The purpose of the program was to create awareness about road safety and the correct kind of traffic behaviours for citizens. 

The director gave important information and guidance regarding traffic rules and regulations. At the end of the program, the trainees pledged to adhere to traffic safety rules. 

Researchers published a study in The Lancet Journal. It noted that interventions and awareness about road safety could save thousands of Indians. In a first of its kind study, it gave precise figures on how actions like encouraging people to wear seatbelts and promoting crash helmets can save more than 5 thousand lives.
