RTO Bhuj

Bhuj is the district headquarters of the Kutch district in Gujarat. It houses the oldest museum in Gujarat and is famous for handicrafts and embroidery. The regional transport office in Bhuj assists in developing the local industry to help authenticate transport facilities.

RTO code GJ-12 is assigned to the Bhuj RTO office and is responsible for maintaining a database of all the registered vehicles in the region.

Bhuj RTO applies the following registration fees on the cars willing to take registration in the region:

• Two-wheeler registration fees: ₹250

• Registration Fees: ₹600 (all four-wheelers)

• Number Plate Fees: ₹230 - ₹400

• Hypothecation Fees: ₹1500 (if purchased on loan)

• FasTag Fees: ₹600 during the time of purchase

The following  Gujarat road tax are applicable under the Bhuj RTO office of Gujarat:

• Two-wheelers: 6% of vehicle cost

• Light four-wheeler vehicle: 6% of vehicle cost

• Auto Rickshaw: 2.5% of vehicle cost

• Tractor (Commercial Use): 3% of the vehicle cost

• Riding without a helmet: ₹500

• Driving without a seatbelt: ₹500

• More than two people on two-wheelers: ₹100  

• No Driving Licence: ₹500 for the first offence and ₹1000 for a repeated offence

• Disobedience to lawful/official orders: ₹1000 

• Unauthorised person Driving: two-wheeler – ₹2000, Other vehicles – ₹3000

Yes, as per the law of India, it is mandatory to have motor insurance in Bhuj. In case you are caught driving without insurance, you may be fined, and repeated offences may lead to licence and RC seizure and cancellation. As per law, you need to have at least third-party insurance while driving a vehicle.

Recently, four family members were killed in a road accident in Bhuj. The road accident took place after a personal vehicle collided with a truck causing the instant death of 4 people. The car crashed into the truck at midnight near Davda village. Two people from the family survived the accident with injuries.

In Bhuj, a truck and an SUV crashed into each other killing three people. As per police reports, the speeding truck crashed into an SUV. The SUV was dropping office employees when it met with the accident. It claimed the life of 2 passengers and the driver of the car. 

As per reports, 2 deaths were reported on the Gujarat highway. Two trucks collided on the Bhuj-Bhachau highway. As the truck tried to overtake a vehicle, it rammed into another truck coming from the opposite direction. According to officials, the two trucks were going above the speed limit, and soon after the collision both trucks caught on fire. 

This massive incident created a traffic jam for several hours on the highway. The official report notes that both drivers died in the fire caused by an accident.

As per reports, Gujarat has recorded a drop in road accidents in last 10 years in spite of the increasing number of vehicles on roads. 

A seminar was organised to make citizens aware of traffic rules and regulations. As a part of this program, members of the Gujarat Road Safety Authority, one retired RTO officer and a City traffic trainer congregated to give information about traffic awareness.  

To commemorate road safety awareness week, Gujarat plans to educate school children on road safety. Children between classes 6-12 are to be given lessons on correct traffic behaviour. Students will be educated on traffic rules, lights, and ideal on-road conduct.
