Here are the essential safety measures that need to be followed on visiting Kuwait:
One should understand that the law of Kuwait is conservative. Hence, there are a plethora of banned activities like drinking alcohol or eating pork, cross-dressing, etc. In addition, eating, drinking, smoking or chewing gum in public is also considered an illegal affair. Hence, before entering the country, it is crucial to understand the prevailing laws to avoid legal complications.
Please note that some street shops and banks do not accept foreign cards. So it is preferable to keep the local currency, the Kuwaiti Dinar while shopping.
Travelling near the borders of Iraq and Saudi Arabia without any authorisation is illegal.
Ensure not to withdraw a large amount of cash from an ATM or carry expensive jewellery as this would draw unnecessary attraction, which can be detrimental to the trip.
As Kuwait has stringent and conservative laws, it is advisable to keep the travelling and civil documents within reach.
In addition to this, getting a travel insurance policy before your trip to Kuwait is necessary as it covers you from unexpected expenses. A travel insurance policy offers coverage for emergency medical bills, expenses involved in cancelling hotels or flights, etc. Hence, purchasing travel insurance from a credible company will keep any unexpected monetary liabilities at bay during your trip.
