1. Online Process

  • Step 1: Open the e-portal by Delhi government. 
  • Step 2: Click on the tab that redirects you to the application for legal heir certificate.
  • Step 3: Fill in the required information in the application form. 
  • Step 4: Upload the necessary documents within the size range mentioned.
  • Step 5: Submit the application form.
  • Step 6: Make the payment.
  • Step 7: After you are done with the online process, you will need to visit the district magistrate physically for the document verification .

2. Offline Process

  • Step 1: Visit the nearest Tehsildar Office. 
  • Step 2: Grab the application form for getting a legal heir certificate. 
  • Step 3: Fill in the required field in the form. 
  • Step 4: Attach the self-attested documents with the application form.
  • Step 5: Submit the application form. 
  • Step 6: Make the payment.

After the payment, the applicant will receive a text message containing the acknowledgment number. Once the application gets processed and verified, the legal heir certificate gets issued.

What Documents Are Required to Apply for a Legal Heir Certificate in Uttar Pradesh?

  • Voted ID 
  • Passport sized photograph
