Calculate Kanpur Property Tax & Online Payment

Kanpur property owners should be familiar with the intricacies of property taxation. If you are looking for ways for property tax payment in Kanpur, the following sections will help you out! Read along!

Kanpur Property Tax- A Brief Overview

As the name suggests, Kanpur property tax is a tax levied directly on property or legal entities.  Every year there are different tax rates for residential property and commercial property.

Previously, the After Repair Value (ARV) was used to collect the property tax, but with increasing properties, the collection process failed to meet the required targets or standards.

To recover from this situation, the revenue department of Kanpur Municipal Corporation has introduced Kanpur property tax online payment procedure and digitised all the assessment registers. KMC has issued a Personal Identification Number or Property Identification. Number (PID), which is a unique number available for each property in Kanpur.

The PID consists of the following digits -

Zone ID-1 digit

Ward ID-3 digits

Chauk ID-3 digits

The last 8 digits are the computer-generated auto number of the property.

With a brief overview of the Kanpur property tax comes the property tax calculation process. Therefore, let’s proceed to our next section.
