Banda RTO offers several functions for the people regarding the following:

Banda RTO provides multiple types of driving licences to the citizens to regulate proper traffic rules throughout the region. These include:

• Two wheeler licence
• Light motor vehicle licence over 50cc
• Motorcycle licence for a vehicle without gears
• Commercial light motor vehicle licence
• Non-transport light motor vehicle licence
• Heavy vehicle driving licence
• Open or heavy passenger vehicle licence
• Heavy trailer licence

The officials of Banda RTO issue and renew 2 types of vehicle registration certificate for the vehicle owners to keep a comprehensive database of all the vehicles on the street. These are:

1. Permanent Registration

2. Temporary Registration

Vehicle owners get access to their unique registration numbers when the RTO officials verify their documents and other aspects of the vehicles.

Banda RTO charges fees for issuing and renewing vehicle registration. These include:

• Two Wheeler: ₹300
• Light Motor Vehicles/Four Wheeler/Cars: ₹600 (Non-Transport)
• Heavy Passenger Motor Vehicle: ₹1500 (Commercial)
• Three Wheeler: ₹600 - ₹1000 (Non Transport)
• Four Wheeler/ Light Motor Vehicles/Cars: ₹1000 (Transport)
• Medium Goods and Passenger Motor Vehicle: ₹1000 (Commercial)
• Quadricycle: ₹600 - ₹1000 (Non Transport)
• Imported Motor Vehicle (Bikes and Cars): ₹2500 - ₹5000
• Smart Card Issuance Charges: ₹200
• Other charges for registration: ₹3000

Banda RTO officials follow the UP road tax depending on the vehicle type and its value. These are as follows:

• Two-wheelers: 2% to 8% of the vehicle’s value
• Four-wheelers: 3% to 9% of the vehicle’s value
• Commercial Vehicles (loading less than 1 ton to 10 tons): ₹665 to ₹3320
• Commercial Vehicles (loading more than 10 tons): ₹3320 + ₹470 per ton

Banda RTO imposes fines for breaking the traffic rules according to the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988. Here is a list of traffic fines in Banda for not following road rules.

• Dangerous Driving: ₹1000 to ₹5000 + licence scrapping and/or 6 months to 1 year in prison
• Riding Without a Helmet: ₹1000 + licence seizure for 3 months
• Drunk Driving: ₹10000 (first offence) and ₹15000 (repetition)
• Driving Without a Licence: ₹5000 and/or community service
• Riding/Driving Without a Permit: Up to ₹10000
• Driving Without a Vehicle Fitness Certificate: ₹2000 to ₹5000

Yes, it is mandatory to have a motor insurance when driving in Banda. Otherwise, if someone is caught driving without an insurance policy, this will attract a fine of ₹2000 on the first offence. Moreover, it will be ₹4000 for the second time for the same offence.

According to a recent report, 4 people were killed and 6 people experienced serious injuries when a Bolero hit a Scorpio in the Tindwari police area of Banda. In this regard, cases like these are increasing due to the violation of traffic rules and improper handling of vehicles.

A recent report suggests, a group of students from JP Sharma Inter College of Banda started a campaign to raise awareness regarding traffic rules and warn people about probable accidents.
