RTO Hardoi

Hardoi is a district in Uttar Pradesh and it falls under Lucknow Commissionaire. The west border of the district touches the industrial city of Kanpur. All transport-related matters of Hardoi are handled by the local RTO which has the code number UP-30 and being situated in a popular location, Hardoi has great transportation connectivity with the surrounding area.

Hardoi RTO serves drivers with every type of facility they need for driving vehicles in this region. Their services are as follows:

Driver-related services:

• Offering duplicate driving licence
• Renewing driving licence and updating information
• Taking driving tests and issuing driving licence

There are two types of vehicle registration certificate in Hardoi:

Hardoi follows the norms of UP road tax depending upon a vehicle’s cost, weight, and loading capacity. However, the taxes are uniform throughout the state:

Two-wheelers

• ₹150 for vehicles under 90.72 kg

• 2% of the vehicle’s value that costs up to ₹0.20 lakh

• 4% of the vehicle’s value that costs between ₹0.20 to ₹0.60 lakh

• 6% of the vehicle’s value that costs between ₹0.60 to ₹2 lakh

• 8% of the vehicle’s value that costs above ₹2 lakh

Four-wheelers

• 3% of the vehicle’s value that costs up to ₹6 lakh

• 6% of the vehicle’s value that costs between ₹6 to ₹10 lakh

• 8% of the vehicle’s value that costs between ₹10 to ₹20 lakh

• 9% of the vehicle’s value that costs above ₹20 lakh

Loading Capacity

• Loading capacity less than 1 ton: ₹665

• Loading  capacity within 1 ton to 2 tons: ₹946

• Loading  capacity within 2 tons to 4 tons: ₹1430

• Loading  capacity within 4 tons to 6 tons: ₹1915

• Loading  capacity within 6 tons to 8 tons: ₹2375

• Loading  capacity within 8 tons to 9 tons: ₹2865

• Loading  capacity within above 10 tons: ₹3320 along with added vehicle tax for UP transport for each ton

• Each tone above 10 tons: ₹470

You will have to pay traffic fines for committing any traffic offence. These charges are as follows:

• Using or talking on mobile phone while driving: ₹1000 (first time)

• Using or talking on mobile phone while driving: ₹10000 (second time)

• Driving without a helmet: ₹500

• Driving without a seatbelt: ₹1000

• Over speeding: ₹4000

• Parking rule violation: ₹500 (first time)

• Parking rule violation: ₹1500 (second time)

Yes, it is mandatory to have a motor insurance policy while driving a vehicle in every part of the state of Uttar Pradesh; and Hardoi is not an exception. You need to purchase insurance to ensure your vehicle’s safety and also to adhere to traffic law. Violating this rule will cause penalties and other legal complications.

Hardoi being a populated region in Uttar Pradesh often faces serious traffic congestion as well as unfortunate road events as well. Sometimes the incidents get very serious such as a recent reports depicts: an accident in the convoy of a famous Indian political leader. Apart from this death of people due to road accidents are often reported in Hardoi such as:

• The death of a businessman due to a collision with a roadside stone, 

• The death of two people in the collision (as reported) of a double-decker bus and car, etc.

However, to manage all these, Hardoi RTO is taking helpful steps and initiating traffic laws throughout the region. The state government is also promoting road safety awareness to reduce the number of accidents.

The UP government ran a road safety campaign from January 5th to February 4th  throughout the state including Hardoi. The main purpose of this campaign was to ensure maximum traffic rule awareness among the common people.
