RTO Mathura

To maintain sanctity and regulate traffic movement in this spiritual town, the local RTO office applies a set of measures. The RTO code of Mathura is UP-85.

The Regional Transport Office in Mathura is in control of exercising the following functions:

• Ensuring the traffic regulations are duly enforced in Mathura as per the MV Act, 1988
• Levying road tax, as mentioned by the UP Ministry of Transport

• Providing learner’s license and driving license
• Issuing international driving license
• Conducting vehicle inspection and handing over fit certificate

Mathura RTO can provide you with two types of vehicle registration certificates:

• Temporary registration

• Permanent registration

The Indian Government has mandated vehicle registration in each state. If any policeman ever catches you driving/ riding without a proper RC book, they may impose a penalty of up to ₹5,000 in the first instance. Also, from the subsequent scenarios, if you are found guilty of the same offence, your vehicle will be seized, and the fine amount will be doubled.

Here is a quick glimpse of various vehicular registration-related charges which you will have to bear while registering under the RTO code UP-85:

• For road tax: 8% (if the vehicle price is below ₹10 Lakhs); 10% (for vehicles priced above ₹10 Lakhs)
• For permanent registration: ₹600
• For HSRP number plates: ₹500 - ₹1,000
• For temporary registration: ₹1,200 - ₹1,500 (valid for up to 1 month)

For Two-wheelers:

• Moped with an unladen weight of less than 90.72 kg: ₹150 

• Priced ₹0.20 lakh: 2% of the cost 

• Cost between ₹0.20 lakh and ₹0.60 lakh: 4% of its price

• Priced over ₹0.60 lakh and up to ₹2.00 lakh: 6% of its price 

• Priced above ₹2.00 lakh: 8% of its cost

For Four-wheelers:

• Cost ₹6.00 lakh and less: 3% of its value 

• Valued between ₹6.00 lakh and ₹10.00 lakh: 6% of its value 

• Priced over ₹10.00 lakh and up to ₹20.00 lakh: 8% of its price 

• Above ₹20.00 lakh: 9% of its cost

For Commercial Vehicles:

• Less than 1 ton: ₹665.00 

• Between 1 ton and 2 ton: ₹940.00 

• From 2 ton to 4 ton: ₹1430.00 

• Between 4 ton and 6 ton: ₹1915.00 

• Within a range of 6 ton to 8 ton: ₹2375.00 

• Above 8 ton and below 9 ton: ₹2865.00 

• From 9 ton to 10 ton: ₹3320.00 

• More than 10 ton: ₹3320.00 + ₹470 per ton

Penalties for breaking traffic rules have been revised throughout Uttar Pradesh, and Mathura is no exception. Check the following list of traffic fines:

• Drunk Driving: ₹10,000

• Driving With a Suspended Driver’s Licence: ₹10,000

• Juvenile Offences: ₹25,000 along with 3 years of jail sentence

• Violating Road Signals: ₹500 - ₹1,000

• Not Giving Way to Emergency Service Providers like Ambulances, Fire Engines, etc.: ₹10,000
