The Italian motorcycle manufacturer Aprilia was set up post World War II by Alberto Beggio. Though the company started with bicycles, today it has expanded its business and offers scooters, small-capacity bikes and heavy-duty sportbikes.

Individuals riding Aprilia bikes need to obtain Aprilia two-wheeler insurance to remain road legal in India. Without valid insurance documents, you may face severe legal repercussions as per the Motor Vehicles Act 1988.

In India, a vast number of insurance companies extend two-wheeler insurance policies. Therefore, it becomes tricky to decide which option to opt for.

What’s Covered in Aprilia Bike Insurance

What’s not Covered

It is equally important to know what’s not covered in your two-wheeler insurance policy, so that there are no surprises when you make a claim. Here are some such situations:

Own Damages for Third-Party Policy holder

In the case of a Third-Party or Liability Only Bike Policy, damages to own vehicle won’t be covered.

Drunk Riding or without a Licence

Your bike insurance won’t cover for you in situations where you were riding drunk or without a valid two-wheeler licence.

Driving without a valid Driving Licence holder

If you hold a learner’s licence and were riding your two-wheeler without a valid licence-holder on the pillion seat- then your claim in those situations won’t be covered.

Consequential Damages

Any damage which is not a direct result of the accident (e.g. after an accident, if the damaged two-wheeler is being used incorrectly and the engine gets damaged, it will not be covered)

Contributory Negligences

Any contributory negligence(e.g. damage due to driving a two-wheeler in a flood, which is not recommended as per the manufacturer’s driving manual, will not be covered)

Add-ons not Bought

Some situations are covered in add-ons. If you haven’t bought those add-ons, the corresponding situations will not be covered.

A Brief History of Aprilia Motorcycle

Aprilia focuses on two objectives, optimised rider comfort and improved ride-ability and safety. The automaker is well-known among bike enthusiasts for its skyhook and acceleration driven damping algorithms that guarantee enhanced performance. The company is the recipient of 294 Grand Prix races, setting the world record of the most number of victories among all automobile manufacturers in Europe. Unlike other manufacturers, Aprilia chose a unique engine combination to compete in racing championships. While others employed V-4 configurations, Aprilia upgraded to the V-twin 500 cc option.

In the 90s, Aprilia unveiled its first plastic scooter Amico to enter the urban mobility sector. Since then, the automaker continued to exhibit innovative technological and aesthetic advancements to stay ahead of its competitors. Regarding performance, reliability, and eco-friendliness, Aprilia two-wheelers managed to attract a lump sum of followers worldwide.

Why You Must Opt for Aprilia Bike Insurance Policies

The purpose of an insurance policy is not only to keep you legal on Indian streets. It has a wide range of benefits. Two-wheeler insurance for Aprilia motorcycles offers -

  1. Personal Accident Cover - According to the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India, every insurance company must extend a ₹ 15 Lakh Personal Accident cover to all its customers in the event of death or disability of the rider-owner.

  1. Third-Party Protection - Third-party motorcycle insurance is the most basic option available. It covers you against financial liabilities claimed by a third party in the event of damages or injuries of the latter caused by your two-wheeler.

  1. Own Damage Coverage - Own Damage protection protects against damages caused to your motorcycle due to accidents, fire, natural disasters, theft and more. In such unfortunate circumstances, an OD cover compensates for repairing and replacement expenses.

  1. Benefits of No Claim Bonus - It is a reward that every insurer offers to their customers for prudent use of their two-wheelers. In simple words, if your bike is well-maintained, you do not need to raise small or unnecessary claims. So, if you complete a year without claiming your policy, you earn an NCB discount on the subsequent premium.

  1. Protection from Legal consequences - If you fail to produce the documents of your motorcycle insurance, you are liable to pay a hefty fine of ₹ 2,000 and ₹ 4,000, based on the grievance of the offence.

As your insurance for Aprilia two-wheeler offers a vast range of protection, you must be careful while selecting your insurer. A reliable insurance provider like Digit provides lucrative convenient policy plans along with lucrative benefits.

  1. Flexible Policy Options - Digit brings you a range of motorcycle insurance policies to cater to the diverse requirements of its clients. The list includes-

Note: Third-party policy does not provide this cover. You have to opt for OD cover separately to maximise your insurance protection.

  1. Comprehensive Coverage - Comprehensive policy covers against own damage in addition to third-party liabilities. This coverage acts as a shield for your motorcycle from incidents such as fire, natural disasters, accidents, fire and other adversities.
