RTO Nandurbar

Nandurbar is a district in the North-Western part of Maharashtra. The city has a population of more than 10 lakhs. Yes, it is mandatory to have motor insurance while driving in Nandurbar. Driving without a licence makes vehicle owners subject to penalties and may also lead to imprisonment for up to 3 months.

The penalty for driving a vehicle without insurance is ₹2000. Repeating the offence will lead to an increased penalty of ₹4000.

As per a recent report, five people were dead on the spot, and more than 30 were injured in a tragic bus accident in Nandurbar. A bus travelling from Malkapur (Maharashtra) to Surat (Gujrat) fell into a gorge near the Kondaibari ghat. 

Another report reported an accident with a private vehicle carrying more than 20 people in the Nandurbar district of Maharashtra. The vehicle reportedly fell in a valley in a remote area, killing eight people on the spot and injuring 15 people. 

After the inauguration of Road Safety Week in Maharashtra, the Nandurbar Transport Department launched a safety campaign for public awareness. Due to the increasing number of road accidents, the local police officers of the Nandurbar district took to the buses on the road. They hopped from one bus to another, talking about the importance of following traffic rules to avoid accidents.
