Online Procedure

To pay registration charges and stamp duty online, follow these steps - 

  • Step 1: Visit the official website of the National Government Service Portal. 
  • Step 2: Click on Haryana e-Stamping and fill in the first party details, i.e., details of a person in favor of stamp duty will be paid and the property address in the address column.
  • Step 3: Then write the name of the first party and second part.
  • Step 4: Choose the category of stamp paper, from the amount list select the amount.
  • Step 5: After reviewing the form, finalize the payment.

Offline Procedure

Alternatively, buyers can buy stamp papers worth more than Rs 10,000 from the treasury office. Then, all you have to do is deposit the amount in the State Bank of India under head '0030-Stamp and Registration'.

What Are the Points to Consider before Paying Stamp Duty in Haryana?

Here are the points you need to keep in mind before paying the stamp duty in Haryana -

  • All properties applicable for stamp duty must be stamped before registration or the next working day from the day of execution. Property deeds executed outside the territory can be stamped within 3 months. Here, execution means signatures of both parties involved in the transaction.
  • The stamp paper must be in the name of individuals involved in the transaction.
  • The date of issued stamp paper must not be more than 6 months from the transaction date.
  • Stamp duty in Haryana can be paid via adhesive stamps. This adhesive stamp is removed during the execution time so that it cannot be reused.

  • Tax deduction for co-owners in joint ownership is based on their share in the property. However, the maximum deduction limit remains the same, i.e. Rs 1,50,000.
